What is parametric insurance? ▼

Parametric insurance pays out automatically when a pre-defined measurable condition is met — like temperature exceeding 38°C. There is no claims process, no adjuster, no paperwork. The smart contract checks the oracle data and releases your USDC instantly.

How is weather data sourced? ▼

Live weather data is fetched from Open-Meteo's public API and written on-chain by the Arc Oracle contract. Data is updated every 10 minutes. The oracle stores temperature, precipitation and windspeed for 6 global cities.

What is the platform fee? ▼

A 7% platform fee is applied to your premium before the payout is calculated. For example, a 10 USDC premium → 9.30 USDC net → up to 17.67 USDC payout (1.9× multiplier). This fee sustains protocol operations.

When can I claim? ▼

You can claim any time your policy is active AND the weather condition has been met. The policy card shows a Claim button when the oracle confirms the condition is triggered. Once claimed, funds are transferred to your wallet instantly.

⚠️ Claim window: You must claim before your policy expires — 7, 10, or 30 days from purchase. Expired policies cannot be claimed.

⚠️ Weekly cap: Maximum 60 USDC per 7 days per wallet. Resets automatically.

Which network does this run on? ▼

Arc Climate Pay runs on the Arc Network Testnet (Chain ID: 5042002). You need MetaMask and testnet USDC. The network is added automatically when you click "Connect Wallet". You can view transactions at testnet.arcscan.app.

Is there a payout limit? ▼

Yes. Each wallet address can receive a maximum of 60 USDC per rolling 7-day period. This limit resets automatically after 7 days from your first claim in that window. There is also a 48-hour cooldown between policy purchases per wallet.

What happens if my policy expires unclaimed? ▼

If your policy expires before you claim, the funds remain in the liquidity pool and cannot be recovered. Always check your active policies before the expiry date shown on each policy card.

Can I download my policy details? ▼

Yes. Use the download button on any policy card in the My Policies section to export it as a JSON file. This contains all policy parameters, timestamps and payout details for your records.
